A few years ago, one site changed the face of e-commerce forever.  It gave the average person the ability to quickly and cheaply (practically free) set up an online retailing presence.  I am talking, of course, about Ebay.  With an email address and a credit card, you can set up an account and start selling anything from used socks to priceless jewelry; from real estate to electronically delivered information.  You don’t even pay anything until you place your first auction.  eBay has since expanded to include seperate automotive sections, classified ads, online stores and you can find virtually anything that can be bought and sold right there in one place.

Now, before you go off and dive into Ebay head first, there are a few things you need to know.  I became a power seller over 3 years ago, but I struggled for a time until I figured out a few things.  Before you start, spend a little time to learn some things about how to be successful and learn what you can sell with little or no risk.  A little bit of knowledge goes a long ways, so make sure you invest in yourself to help ensure success.

  • Auction Revolution teaches you some great secrets to help you save money and make more money with your Ebay listings.
  • Austion Inspector helps you find the hot items on eBay before everybody else figures it out. Combine it with a good dropshipping program and you can react instantly to the emerging trends.
  • Ebay Fortune gives you a guide to building your Ebay empire from scratch. Great information for anybody serious about making money on Ebay!
  • The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on Ebay can help you get started. Just another helpful tool for starting your online business!

Now, you need to have the right products to sell. One way to find the right product without having to buy a bunch of inventory is to take advantage of the drop shipping programs available. Basically, you sign up with a distributor who has warehouses of merchandise sitting there waiting to be sold. You place an ad and once it sells you enter it and the drop shipper sends it directly to your customer in your name. You never pay for the product until after you already sold it at a profit. This also allows you to try out products and see what works for your. There are a couple of excellent programs you may want to check out.

  • Drop Shipping Wholesalers offers you access to over 500,000 items – thats half a million! If you can’t find something here to sell, their website must be down.
  • SaleHoo Product Directory offers a huge selection of name brand merchandise to help you get started!

Now that I have given you some tools to help you start your business.  Check other postings to help learn how to improve your business and drive more traffic to your auctions and other sites!

Most of us strive for it.  Most of us dream of it.  Most of us work our entire lives looking for it.  Financial independence.

Over the course of weeks or months, I will share my quest for financial freedom.  I hope to share a few things that will help somebody else reach their financial goals too.  Read on, check back often, have an open mind, and try something new.  As they say, “if you do what you have always done, you will get what you always got”.

Challenge yourself to stop doing what you have always done and try something new.  Reach for the stars, you may just get the moon.

 That’s all for now.
